Groom Creek Kennels

How it all began over 25 years ago....

Welcome to my bear page. My passion for hounds started with coon hunting at an early age but my fire got started running bears in Maine thanks to my close friend and partner John Dykstra. I currently guide for Corey Dailey of Little Lost Outfitters in Howe, Idaho. There are also photos from Utah and Arizona. Below you will see pictures of bears our hounds have treed with our friends and a few I have harvested in years past.

Ch.Sciaretta's Lil Pride treeing on one of her first coon in 1980.

One of my pure enjoyments is helping out young hunters with there first harvest such as this one for Allen.

We tree this boar the spring of 2005 in Idaho when I was with Corey Dailey of Little Lost Outfitters.

This bear was a small cinnamon that the hounds treed and we let go while guiding with Corey in Idaho in the spring of 2007. This was Groom Creek Clydes first bear of the spring.

This bear Corey, Frank Marcello and myself had our hounds on at first light and treed several miles away back in some deep canyons. The hike was a good one and as you can tell by the photo the bear was quiet bored as Corey and I sat and waited for the hunter to arrive.

Here is Groom Creek Clyde treeing on his first bear of the 2008 spring season along with some of Coreys Spooky Ridge Plotts.

Here is a nice sow treed and released in Idaho using Groom Creek Jazz and Groom Creek Gypsy. I was guiding with Corey Daily of Little Lost Outfitters and his fine pack of Spooky Ridge plotts.

This bear was harvested by a hunter out of Utah. Hounds used to tree this bugger were Groom Creek Clyde along with Coreys blueticks Ben and Ike and several of his fine Spooky Ridge plotts. This would ultimately be Nt.Ch. Groom Creek Spankys last hunt before he passed away.

My first hound in 1979, Sciaretta's Lil Bandit given to me by Jim Hannigan.

Pope and Yound bear taken back in 1992.

We treed this Sow with 2 cubs in the fall of 2005 when we were with Randy Cooper of Treed Guide Service.

Here is Groom Creek Clyde and Groom Creek Banjo on another Idaho Spring bear.

This bear took us for a run through several drainages and finally settled in the only tree left on the hillside big enough to hold him. Groom Creek Clyde and Banjo were on this bear also while I was guiding with Corey in Idaho.

Another fine young boar treed and released in Idaho using Groom Creek Jazz and Groom Creek Maximus. This was Max's first race and he made the whole race. I was guiding for Corey Daily of Little Lost Outfitters and his fine pack of Spooky Ridge plotts.

Groom Creek Jazz letting me know she has it covered......
